About Linkit
Key Strengths
- Desktop bookmark manager for macOS, Windows and Linux with AI summaries, semantic search and a knowledge graph of your links
- Stores data locally in SQLite, with optional free sync through Supabase
- Actively updated (v0.4.7 released Oct 22, 2026) and installable via a Homebrew cask
Limitations to Consider
- Billed as open source, but the repo has no license file and no visible app source, which Hacker News commenters pointed out
- The macOS build isn't notarized; the Homebrew cask clears the quarantine flag to get around that
- Small project (about 100 stars); HN commenters suggested established self-hosted options like linkding and Karakeep
